State and Authority

All human societies are politically organized. This political organization of the society is what we call the state. The state is the centre of political authority, which most societies have. The state exercises its authority by some institutions. These institutions are equipped with processes and procedures operated by chosen officials we call the government. In other words, government is the instrument of the state authorized by the people to organize society politically.
